Grades 3-8 Robot Competitions Wed 3:45-5:15 pm
Students are introduced to both robot building as well as programming. We will build robots to accomplish a specific task while using our imagination to make our robots better and more capable. Creativity and imaginative thinking are encouraged to solve problems to complete the tasks. The program culminates in an epic robot sumo battle on the last day of class. Parents are encouraged to come on this day to cheer the robots on to victory. Let the fun and excitement begin!!!Dates: (Wednesdays) 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26
Grades K-2 LEGO Master Challenges Thurs 3:45-5:15 pm
The hunt is on for the next LEGO Master! This program is designed to get students inspired to use all their LEGO building knowledge to complete a series of building challenges that will be sure to spark their creativity and inspire them to learn more. We work in small teams, so students work on their communication and collaboration skills.Dates: (Thursdays) 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27
Grades 3-8 Video Game Design (Under the Sea Games) Wed 3:45-5:15 pm
What’s better than playing video games? Making them! Students will learn how to design, program, and create the assets in their own video games. This is a great way to introduce your child to the career opportunities when they are familiar with technology. We will learn about:* Intellectual Property* Careers Related to the Video Game Industry* Simple Storyboarding* If/Then Commands and their Importance in Programming* Creating Pixel Art with AnimationsPerfect for the beginner or the more experienced student. Everyone gets to keep all of the games made in their class.The theme for this class is Under the Sea, in which students will create a world set underwater.Dates (Wednesdays): 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7, 12/14
Grades K-2 Little Robot Builders 3:45-5:15 pm
In Young Robot Builders, students will learn by exploring the basic concepts of a construction and programming a robot. Students will work together to follow simple instructions to build and program their robots. We work on skills such as attention to detail, keyboard and mouse use, communication, and collaboration which will help them in future classes all while they have fun building robots.Dates: (Thursdays) 11/10, 11/17, 12/1, 12/8, 12/15, and MONDAY 12/19
Grades 3-8 Hands-On Engineering Wed 3:45-5:15 pm
Students explore the concepts of engineering, science, and mechanics, utilizing the power of gravity, air, chemistry, and water. We explore the concepts of building and construction through hands-on exploration and design. Students explore the engineering behind cars, planes, boats, and more in this fun and engaging experience.Dates: (Wednesdays) 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15
